	Wednesday at Bar Hill
	We will be carrying on holding meetings at the Oxford Archaeology East HQ at Bar Hill as we continue assessing finds from the Leslie Bradford collection and earlier work. We hope to to use this as a tutorial to refresh our memory of specific potte...
	Lectures
	Our next lecture will be on November 5th ay the McDonald building and is a special session of two lectures under the title "Field walking: is it worth the effort?" Tom Midgeley on the title and Mike Coles on Wimpole as an example.
	Fieldwork
	More winter season field walking carried on at Hope Farm, the RSPB-run site in Knapwell. Mostly tile and a scatter of glazed red earthenware. We will be there again on 26th October to finish this field.

Wimpole: silent voices and deserted homes

Fieldwork

Through the winter and spring we have been fieldwalking on fields on the Cobbs Wood, Cambridge Road and Eight Elms Farms.

We have found a small Roman site and the site of a 17th and 18th century building, long since disappeared from maps, besides individual finds such as the pebble-hammer.

Our metal detectorists were also busy and have found a number of items of interest.

In preparation for the test pitting, members have been out testing their resistivity survey skills, following training provided by Jigsaw Cambridge.
