Wimpole: silent voices and deserted homes |

Through the winter and spring we have been fieldwalking on fields on the Cobbs Wood, Cambridge Road and Eight Elms Farms.
We have found a small Roman site and the site of a 17th and 18th century building, long since disappeared from maps, besides individual finds such as the pebble-hammer.
Our metal detectorists were also busy and have found a number of items of interest.
In preparation for the test pitting, members have been out testing their resistivity survey skills, following training provided by Jigsaw Cambridge. | | |
